5 Engaging Holiday Marketing Campaigns

The 2018 holiday shopping season is in full swing, and consumers are expected to spend more this year than ever before. Along with all of the people to shop for on our lists, we can’t forget about our furry friends! According to Bloomberg, the average American will spend anywhere from $67-$183 on their pets this holiday season, so use these holiday marketing campaigns to engage with your customers!

As a retailer, the holiday season is the busiest time of the year! Use these 5 holiday marketing campaign ideas below to engage your customers and have your best season yet!

Stocking Stuffer Sales

Promoting fun gifting items like toys and treats as stocking stuffers is a great way to engage with your customers during the holiday season. Whether it is by hanging stockings filled with these items in your store, or posting fun and creative stocking stuffer posts on social media, your customers will love your holiday spirit and be encouraged to shop!

Santa Paws Photos

In-store holiday marketing events are sure to drive sales and engage your customers, especially during the holidays. Bring in “Santa Claus” and a local photographer, and invite customers to bring their furry friends in for a photo with Santa. Encourage them to post on social media and tag your store. Promoting the use of popular hashtags like #santapaws, and even creating your own store hashtag for this event is another great way to spread the word.

Holiday Social Media Contest

Host an Instagram contest for the month of December to engage with and gain followers. Post a holiday themed photo with a caption stating the rules of your contest. An example is “To enter, you must follow our account and tag 2 friends. One entry per person. Winner will be chosen at random.” Winner can receive anything from a $10 gift card to your store, to a free bag of treats or free toy!

Donate to Local Animals

The holidays are a time for giving. Engage your customers with a chance to give back this holiday season. When customers are checking out, give them the option to donate $5 to a local animal organization or shelter. Supply a bone shaped card to write their name on and hang up on a wall in your store. Seeing other’s donations will encourage customers to donate and spread the word about your campaign and your store.

Free Gift with Purchase

Encourage your customers to spend more this holiday season by offering a free gift of a toy or treat with purchase of a minimum amount. Go the extra mile by putting a bow on these gifts to show some holiday spirit!

Hopefully these holiday marketing campaign ideas spark some excitement and inspire you to get creative with some of your own ideas this holiday season!
